Portfolio Boost

Portfolio Boost

Date: Saturdays, October 14 - December 2, 10:00am - 12:00pm

A portfolio is one of the many requirements of admission to a post-secondary art program. This 8 week course will assist with portfolio development for students applying to programs such as visual arts, animation, interior design, architecture, etc. or those looking to improve their foundational skills. At the end of the course, participants will receive a digital portfolio of their course work that can be used for academic admissions.

This course will focus on skill development in still life drawing, interior and exterior environmental studies, figurative work, portrait exercises, and sketchbook creation. Students will use a wide variety of media such as chalk pastels, acrylic paint, pencil crayon, and pen and ink.

The instructor Christine Suchy-Shantz graduated from the University of Guelph with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Education from Althouse College at the University of Western Ontario. Since 1986, she has worked professionally as a secondary school teacher for the Grand Erie District School Board, specializing in the instruction of visual arts and science.

Fee is $85 (8 sessions); 10% discount for NAC members. Please pre-register.
